I knew a girl who fell in love. That love was intoxicating, at first the frequent texts and calls were thought to be sweet. Then the sweetness left, little by little, inch by inch he controlled her world.<\/p>\n

If she showered he was there. If she hung washing he was there. Constant asking of what was she thinking. Why she was doing what she was doing. Calls to her work, calls to her mobile. Where was she? What was she doing? Why didn’t she call straight back?<\/p>\n

Attention placed anywhere but him meant he would punish her. It wasn’t physical violence, not at first…It was emotional cruelty. So very cruel.<\/p>\n

History and times checked on the computer, texts on her phone checked, emails read. There was no space to breathe for this girl.<\/p>\n

I knew a girl was drugged and abused. It was so hazy and she was so confused that she doubted herself, questioned whether she was losing her mind. It was a cruel game and it was always her fault, or so she thought.<\/p>\n

I knew a girl who went to the Drs, hoping they would see something and tell her that she wasn’t crazy. She spoke to the Dr and said “I’m just so tired all the time”, “can you help me?” He sat there with a smug smile on his face. He knew that he was doing this to her, but she dare not once think it was him. The Dr suggested she might be depressed. He laughed, then said to her Dr “she has nothing to be depressed about. I knew a girl who didn’t realise she was in a Domestic Abuse relationship, even though she had studied this very thing . THIS VERY THING<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I knew a girl. You probably know one too. She might be your Sister, Your best friend, your Cousin, It might be you. You might not even realise it’s you…yet. These men are master manipulators, narcissists…Life and energy thieves.<\/p>\n

Emotional\/psychological violence
\nEmotional\/psychological violence \u2013 can include a range of controlling behaviours such as control of finances, isolation from family and friends, continual humiliation, threats against children or being threatened with injury or death.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Just because he isn’t beating you doesn’t mean he isn’t breaking you<\/strong>. Little by little.<\/p>\n

I know a girl who writes a blog and she has no idea why she is writing this today, she just felt compelled.<\/p>\n
